Finding this site is such a treat! I lived in Jay in the early to mid 1950s. Dad
worked as Santa at North Pole. Hathaway's store was our "mall!" The Fourth of
July on the green was great fun, as were the dances at the Grange Hall. We used to
swim in the river in the summer and skate on the ice in the winter. These
activities remain a highlight of my early adolescence. Our home had a beautiful view
of the river and the covered bridge. Life took me away from Jay but I took fond
memories with me. You have done a great job with the website.

Hello to all my family and friends. finding this site takes me back home. I grew up in Upper Jay and went to AuSable schools. It was great to see the pictures of the ( new) covered bridge. I remember ridding threw it on horse back and the sound it would make. I miss the Adirondacks so much. Hope to come home again soon and see all the people that made me who i am. some times I think i should work for the tourist on n.y I tell everyone about the beautiful side of N.Y and that it's not all just skyscrapers and sidewalks. Love and miss you all
